Edinburgh University Settlement
Effective and lasting social and community development

Student Volunteer Centre

Edinburgh University Settlement (EUS) works to provide effective and lasting social and community development that respects the whole person and the dignity and diversity of all people. The Student Volunteer Centre is EUS’s University outreach volunteering programme. The Student Volunteer Centre houses a number of different groups working to help students engage with the local community and volunteering. The two main groups working here are ESCA and Community Link. You can visit the ESCA website here: http://escaonline.org/

Community Link arranges volunteering opportunities for anyone! As we are based in Edinburgh University we have special links to university students, alumni and staff and aim to help them volunteer with local and international voluntary groups. We offer our resources, both in terms of advice and our wealth of written material, in order that an individual might find a project which fits his/her needs and interests.

We also can help you find funding for a social project you would like to do, from club nights to school building in Afghanistan.

Anyone can join at any time.

If you have any ideas for a new project (however big or small) please get in touch with us at Community Link.

Edinburgh University Settlement was founded in 1905 as an independent voluntary organisation under the auspices of the University of Edinburgh. It maintains a successful partnership for social change with the University and other institutes of further and higher education.

Edinburgh University Settlement is a member of the British Association of Settlements and Social Action Centres and the International Federation of Settlements and Neighbourhood Centres.
